Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.
As the seasons come and go, many people reflect on resolutions that they've made to accomplish some goals, improve some things and get rid of some stuff.
Some people rejoice because they find that they have accomplished some goals, improved some things and got rid of some stuff. While others are plagued with a troubled heart because they failed to accomplish some goals, created havoc of some things and after taking inventory of all their stuff, found that they packed on more baggage than they started out with.
The wonderful thing about the start of a new season is the euphoric feeling it brings of a new beginning. The saying goes "Out with the old and in with the new". We can rejoice in knowing that at the start of each season comes new opportunities to achieve, to improve and get rid of whatever was left undone in the previous year. We can thank God for life, health and strength to forge ahead with new and revised resolutions.
But as we embrace our new season, we would be wise to develop a greater sense of urgency as well. With another season coming to a close, we realize that time is fleeting and we must take advantage of every opportunity to fulfill our goals, improve our relationships and let go of whatever it is in life that keeps us bound.
Carpe Diem Quam Minimum Credula Postero – "Seize the day, trusting as little as possible in the future". The future is unknowable therefore make the most of present opportunities because life is short and time is fleeting.
With everyday, we should strive to accomplish the goals of the kingdom, improving our relationship with God and getting rid of anything that is not pleasing to Him. Let's start by putting off laziness. If we do, the bible says that we shall prosper.
